What would Klezmer be without the clarinet! Loved in the Middle East it adds a wonderful tone and flavour to the regional music.
Many classical composers captivated by the sound of the clarinet have composed sonatas and symphonies; in fact, the clarinet was a favourite instrument of Mozart. On the other hand, think “Rhapsody in Blue” and Benny Goodman playing jazz clarinet.
From folk to classical, this is a wonderfully versatile instrument.
